We're off to Lisa and Steve's wedding celebration in the West of Ireland in a few hours! We're really excited about it. Lisa and Steve are great people and a lot of our other great Munich friends will be there too. We haven't seen this gang in a year and it should be wonderful!

The wedding is tomorrow night, which is a Friday, and we stay until Sunday morning when we fly to England for a week of touring and then family! I'm very happy about the entire trip.

Everything's been a little nuts lately. Work's been particularly intense lately, but I like it when things get topsy turvy and crazed. I do my best work under the gun.

Anyway, watch this space....
Some photos of our back garden, which I have been working hard on, and also and our sweet new dog, Rooney follow. Posted by Picasa

Great weekend for us. We went to a really good party on Saturday with lots of good chat and laughs. We've been hanging out with a wider group of people and it's been nice and very interesting. Sunday, we took a ride to the beach with Jo and now we're hot to trot on a rental in early September, my favorite time at the shore.

The heat wave is really killing all of my energy to do anything. First casualty was cooking. I just cannot heat the kitchen up. It turns the entire first floor into something resembling a sauna.

I do miss Germany and the beer gardens right now. I also miss our friends. There was a big party on Saturday night in Munich for Richard and Simon's fortieth birthdays and pictures and reports are trickling back. Looks awesome!

Yesterday someone, who shall remain nameless, asked me for some local dirt and sadly, I realized I had none, which later led me to a discussion with Jason about the real lack of salacious gossip in our worlds. The gist of our lament is that you never hear anything good. Sure you hear stuff, but it's just not sordid enough! Finances, as far as we're concerned, are simply not good fodder for hearsay. Have we really gotten that old and boring? Let's face it - all the good stuff is about sex. So, this is an open call to bring all your tales to me!

The past few months have been rough and I have not been updating this blog as much as in the past. I have been dealing with the personal issues of losing my mom, and then losing my dog. I've been introspective, but oddly for me, I've largely kept it private, or only shared it with a few people like Chris, Joanna and my family. I'm starting to feel like myself again so expect more postings - at least twice a week, if not more. I've been cooking a lot so I'll talk about that as well as some books I've read lately. I also would like to write a bit about our trip to Provence. We're on the eve of another trip to Ireland and the UK and I haven't even written about the last wander we took. I need to get on the stick.
Thanks for hanging with me...
